This piece began with waking up from deep sleep with the song “Clown Collector” being played in my head instead as “Cloud Collector”, and I thought the concept of collecting clouds was both poetic and an impossible scenario perfect for a painting. This scene shows a girl just waking up, and reaching into the sky to collect little pink clouds for her collection. Inside are a few clouds held in bird cages, one is crying / raining and another is throwing a lightning fit due to being caged. Another is being weighed, while several unrestricted birds observe.
34” x 47.7”
Acrylic on Wood Panel
Framed in Dark Wood Frame
